Windybush Fall 2026 Update
Good morning Windybush,
In 2 weeks we will hold our biannual community meeting. It will be held on Sunday, September 27th at 6pm at the Windybush Swim Club in the back of the neighborhood. Our WBCA board met recently and agreed this community meeting will not be attended by our elected representatives.
Our spring meeting ran too long, and there wasn’t enough time to cover all the topics for the neighborhood and give our representatives enough time as well. We will host our elected representatives again at our Spring 2027 meeting. We have many topics to cover this fall.
Windybush Woodland Policy
We are properly insured for the Windybush Woods. The next step is to develop a basic land stewardship policy. This is our biggest topic to cover. The WBCA is currently refining the draft we have after collecting input from the community over the last year. We will be sending out a separate correspondence on this topic this coming weekend.
Windybush Neighborhood Sign
Our new neighborhood sign is in. The sign looks great but we had a difficult time getting help for installation. We are hoping to have the sign installed properly before the meeting later this month.
Windybush Swim Club
The pool just wrapped up another great summer. The WBCA Board attended the annual bondholders meeting last week. All 4 of us are active bondholders and members. It is important that the neighborhood and the swim club have a great working relationship. The pool members voted in new board members, including their new President, Andy Sedar. As always, we encourage our neighborhood to support the Windybush Swim Club and all it has to offer.
Halloween Hoopla
The annual Halloween Hoopla is tentatively scheduled for October 18th. We will have more details as we get closer to the event.
Snow Plowing
The WBCA has finalized everything with Arborvine for snow plowing this winter. Last winter we had 3 major snowstorms, all on Sundays. Arborvine did a great job communicating with us and making sure the neighborhood was cleared.
Windybush 70th Anniversary
In June, we celebrated Windybush turning 70 with a big picnic on Delview Drive. DelDOT helped us close down the street, and we had an excellent turnout with great weather. Our local representatives joined us, and we had a great time. Many neighbors helped plan and host the party, and we are thankful to them. A special thank you to our VP Emily for taking on so much of that responsibility and hosting the event for the neighborhood to enjoy. It was awesome!
2026 Dues Campaign
Right now, 47% of the community has paid their 2026 annual dues. Annual dues are $40 a year. If you aren’t sure about the status of your dues, please contact us. We accept checks and we have online payment available. It’s so simple and safe, it can be done so quickly and everyone’s participation helps our community. If you have questions about your dues please contact us and we will let you know if you have paid yet or not. If you have questions about our finances and expenses, we always keep an up to date financial report for transparency on our website. I also encourage you to bring those questions to our meeting.
President’s Note
When the WBCA Board meets, I always feel great about it. Emily, Karl, Brian, and I always try to meet every month and work on all the topics in the neighborhood. We always have a lot going on and we are all very busy. But we always make time to meet up and work together. It has been very enjoyable and encouraging. Over the years, it has developed great friendships. For that, I am thankful.
I hope everyone will come join us at the swim club for our community meeting. If you have ideas, input, concerns, or criticism, we want to hear from you. We are here for you and our goal is for Windybush to be the best that it can be. Please contact us:
Your WBCA Board,
Kevin, Emily, Brian, & Karl
