WBCA 2026 Neighborhood Update

Hello Windybush,

Spring is here and the WBCA is very busy getting organized. We have many upcoming events and items on our agenda. Windybush turns 70 years old in 2026!

2026 Dues Collections

Our WBCA dues for 2026 are $40 annually. You either received an email with your dues payment information earlier this year, or you received a flyer in your mail with this information today. Dues collections are so important to maintaining our community properly. We have all of our financial reports on our website for transparency, so you can see how our finances are being managed. This winter, we were able to plow the neighborhood after every storm without financial concern, which was a major benefit to the community. I spoke with neighboring communities that had problems due to multiple storms and the costs associated with plowing. Please visit our website here to view our financial records.

Community Update

- Starting this month, we will be using Baez landscaping to cut the grass in the circle and open lot in the cul-de-sac on Chatham Place. These cuts will be bi-weekly through October.

- Our new Windybush neighborhood sign will be going up at the entrance in May. We had setbacks finalizing the design and installation. We will report details at our upcoming community meeting.

- We are using Grind Time Tree Service to clean up the front of the neighborhood this month. They will be clearing out brush around the signs, trimming back overgrowth, and planting grass. This will all be done in conjunction with the new sign installation. Many have expressed concern about visibility at the entrance. This should address that issue and also make the entrance more aesthetically pleasing.

- Thank you to Arborvine Landscaping for handling our neighborhood plowing so well this winter. We had multiple snowstorms this season and are lucky to have a professional company to help us.

- Last weekend we had an excellent Easter egg hunt event at the pool in conjunction with the Windybush Swim Club. It was a beautiful day with well over 100 people attending. We had an Easter egg hunt, the Easter bunny showed up to take pictures with everyone, multiple food trucks, face painting, and balloon animals. It was a very successful community event. My kids had a great time and it was good to see so many neighbors. Thank you so much to our VP Emily Heggan for organizing and managing the event for everyone.

- We are trying our best to be fully online! It is so much easier and less expensive to send email and online updates. If you received a community update in your mailbox today, please consider giving us your email address. This is about simplicity and financial responsibility. Flyers cost money and time to distribute, where online updates are free and instant.

Upcoming Events

- Delaware General Assembly - Our State Senator Dan Cruce has invited our community to celebrate our 70th birthday with him at the General Assembly in Dover on May 7th. Details for this event can be found on our Facebook page.

- Windybush Yard Sale - Our semiannual Yard Sale will be Saturday, May 16th. A great opportunity to make the most of your spring cleaning. Rain date will be Sunday, May17th. We will send out another reminder and have signs up at the entrance the week leading up to the event.

- WBCA Community Meeting - Our semiannual community meeting with the WBCA Board will be Sunday, May 17that the Windybush Swim Club at 6:30pm. All of our local representatives have been invited. This is a great chance to meet everyone who represents you, get a neighborhood update, and ask all the questions that you have related to our community. This is one of the most important events of the year for the Board and our community. We will send out another reminder for this event.

- Windybush 70th Birthday Block Party - On Saturday, June 20th, we are planning a big 70th birthday party for the neighborhood. This is currently a work in progress. Tentatively we are thinking it will be held near the bottom of Delview Drive. Music, food, a bounce house, an ice cream truck? Our elected representatives are going to help us with this event and any permits needed. This is going to be a big deal, and details could change as we are in the planning phase. Stay tuned for more details. We are hoping to have more concrete plans and an event update at our WBCA Community Meeting next month.

Windybush Swim Club

For anyone that knows my family, you know you can find us at the pool every day, all summer long. The pool is one of the best features of our neighborhood. There are many weekly events like raft night every Friday night. We have big cookouts every Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. Our swim team went undefeated last year. Coach Mike lives in the neighborhood and has room for swimmers of every skill level up to age 18. Please visit www.windybushswimclub.com for all the details. They have a family special for all new families for $400 for the summer. Please support the swim club and our community by joining the pool.
